Children when they turn 10, parents cannot believe how a decade has passed so quickly since they were born. And it is that in this first decade of life, boys and girls have had incredible brain development, they have developed cognitively, emotionally, socially ... they have made their personality very clear and their character continues to be formed. But there is still a lot of work in development, this is only just beginning!

You have probably noticed how your child is more involved in the family but also begins to want to spend time with his friends. At this stage complex thinking continues to advance rapidly but advances both physically, intellectually, emotionally and socially.

You will begin to have a much more logical, complex and mature thinking, so you will be able to see different perspectives for the same situation. Although he has a more complex thought, his thoughts are still based on real things more than just ideas, that is, on things that can happen directly or identify with the senses.

At ten years old children they are consolidating learned concepts previously and are able to develop new skills at a constant rate. Although they need motivation to study, they can achieve very good results.

On a physical level, 10-year-old boys and girls have highly developed coordination, balance and movement, so they can learn complex sports and also be good at them.

Soccer, basketball, dancing, etc… can be some favorite activities.

Emotions and social learning go hand in hand, so it is necessary to consider both aspects together. When children are at school or in extracurricular activities they are outside the safety of the family and it is they themselves who must regulate their scene. They will learn new skills, necessary to make friends and control their emotions. These kinds of skills will be used for the rest of your life.

In this stage, self-esteem, personal security and internal strength play a crucial role. They begin to feel strongly the sense of belonging depending on what is happening around them. They are not yet in their pre-teens but they start to behave sometimes like 'little adults' and sometimes like two-year-olds. It will all depend on the context and how they feel emotionally.

At these ages, although parents believe that children are more independent, they should always be by their side. It is necessary that the little ones feel that their parents will be with them at all times, that they care about their day to day and that they will be their support no matter what happens. For this reason, it is necessary for parents to ask them every day how school has gone, to get involved in their day-to-day life, not to underestimate them in their decision-making, to respect their tastes and interests. Rules and regulations at home must remain firm in order to guide children consistently.
